Biography Born in Auchenheath, Scotland, as brother to fellow GWA superstar TSW, Hamish MacPhersons mother died while giving birth to him. Soon after, Hamish left Auchenheath with his father, leaving his brother behind, and together, they fled to the promised land that was the United States of America. Hamishs father at first struggled to settle in the USA and find employment, but eventually, he got a job in a Scottish-themed bar in San Francisco, where his Scottish accent went down a storm with the customers. While his father worked, Hamish was looked after by a young nanny named Fiona Davidson, and soon, he grew to treat Fiona as the mother he never had. Eventually, Fiona and Hamishs father were married, and the family settled down in San Francisco. Another child soon came along, a girl this time, but when Lyndsey was 3, and Hamish was reaching his teens, she died after being run over by a car. The tragic death of her daughter sent Fiona into a downward spiral, and the whole family suffered. When Hamish was 14, Fiona took her own life, and was soon followed by Hamishs father, grief-stricken at the disintegration of his once-happy family. Hamish was left on his own, and was taken in at a foster home. But, aged just 15, Hamish had witnessed more tragedy than most people will in their lifetimes, and he began to show erratic behaviour, spending hours alone in his room, and frequently getting into fights at school. This grew steadily worse, until the 16-year-old Hamish was fighting men in their mid-20s, and being beaten senseless. The worst of it, though, was that Hamish actually seemed to enjoy the beatings he was receiving. Each time he woke in hospital, he had a smile on his face, and some people even claimed to have heard him laughing while being severely beaten by a gang of men. But thanks to all these fights, Hamishs fighting skills gradually improved, and his beatings grew less frequent and less severe. Still, though, he spent hours in his room, and frequently, he could be heard muttering to himself, and sometime laughing. When he was 18, Hamish got in one fight too many, and ended up crippling a man twice his age. In court, Hamish was found to be insane, and was sent to an asylum, where he would receive intensive treatment for his mental illness. Hamish spent 5 years in that asylum, until one day, it mysteriously burnt to the ground, and he escaped. Hamish went into hiding, and eventually, the hunt for him was called off, and he was presumed to have died in the fire. It was then that Hamish emerged from his hiding place, and then he found out that his long-lost brother was now resident in the USA. Hamish set out to find his brother, and soon did, discovering that he was wrestling in an organisation called the AWA. Hamish watched from the sidelines until the AWA closed down, and kept a close eye as TSW was courted by many federations, and eventually signed for the IWF. Hamish then went to an open try-out for the IWF, and duly impressed the IWF management with his unorthodox fighting style, incredible resilience, and apparent enjoyment of pain. Hamish signed with the IWF, and debuted under his wrestling persona of Psycho. At the IWFs first show, he actually wrestled his brother, and on the same show, one of the most famous and brutal rivalries in wrestling, with War Kid, began. This rivalry was to become one of legend, and featured some of the most extreme matches ever seen in a ring, and Psycho loved every minute of it. TSW eventually realised who Psycho really was, and together, they hatched a plan. It was agreed that Psycho should cement his place in the IWF before the two did anything together, and so, Psycho became a member of the Corporation. He soon became Intercontinental Champion, an accolade he was to hold on a further two occasions, and also developed his wrestling skills, becoming one of the most feared superstars in the IWF. In early 2000, Psycho turned on the Corporation, and joined with his brother and St. Andrew to form the Bravehearts. Together, the Scottish faction became one of the most dominant in wrestling, winning a multitude of titles between them, and Psycho himself won the Hardcore title and the European title, and also became a multi-time tag team champion with St. Andrew. A year later, Psycho turned on his compatriots after they, in his opinion, failed to take his side in his feud with fellow Braveheart Remus. Psycho then fought both TSW and St. Andrew, defeating them both, and was embroiled in a bitter feud with IWF champion David Flurry when the IWF suddenly, unexpectedly closed down. Now a free agent, Psycho found himself wanted by a number of federations. Eventually, he chose the newly-formed GWA, only later discovering that TSW had also signed with the promotion. Now, with both TSW and Psycho in the GWA, and Psycho having greatly improved as an all-round wrestler, only time will tell if the Insane One can come to dominate the GWA in the manner his brother has other federations in the past. |
