Tuesday Night Corruption
20th August, 2002
Live from the Mellon Arena, Pittsburgh, PA
The Corruption credits roll, and then we cut to the Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh, where fireworks explode loudly on the stage, as the Corruption theme is piped out through the PA system. A sold-out crowd go wild, as the lights come up, and the camera pans through them. Various humorous signs are seen amongst the cheering masses, before the camera cuts to the ringside announce table, where we find seated Jim "JF" Floss, and Gordon "Flash" Gunn.
JF welcomes everyone to the show, and introduces himself and Flash, before talking about the opening week of the GWA. Flash says it was quite a week, and the two men go over the first round of the title tournament, as well as everything else that went down on both Corruption and Meltdown.
JF then says that he hopes that this week, and all others to come, can live up to the precedent set last week, and Flash says that as long as quality cards like tonight's continue to be booked, there'll be no problem in that respect. This is the cue for the two to talk about tonight's card, and JF says that there's five quality match-ups in store, and adds that the fans are in for a treat tonight.
Flash says that there's no point in beating about the bush, and says that we're just going to launch straight into tonight's first match. JF talks about Deju Del Toro and Kriminal's fortunes so far in the GWA, saying that Del Toro will take part in the Global Title tournament after losing to Blitz, while Kriminal will compete in the same tournament, after his defeat against Alvekan.
Flash quickly adds that tonight's match is not a continuation of the tournament, as that will not take place until next week, but is in fact a grudge match after Kriminal's interference in Del Toro's match last week on Corruption, and Del Toro's subsequent retaliation. JF says that this could be a match with plenty of heat in it, as the first strains of music are heard over the speakers.
Kriminal walks out to a hero's welcome as D12's "Fight Music" blares out the speakers. JF comments that the fans obviously think that Kriminal should have won against Blitz, had it not been for Deju Del Toro interfering. Kriminal walks slowly down the ramp with Miss Demeanour at his side. He helps Miss Demeanour into the ring as they reach the bottom of the ramp and then slides in the ring. Kriminal shouts at the ring announcer to hand him a mic. The ring announcer tosses one to Kriminal and he catches it, which causes a big cheer from the crowd. Kriminal mounts the nearest turnbuckle and salutes the crowd. He stays there and begins to talk.
Kriminal - "Yo Yo Yo...Kriminal is the tha..."
Kriminal pauses and points the mic to the crowd.
Crowd - "...HIZZZZZ-OUSE!!!"
Kriminal - "Yeah, yo all right there! Anyway...I'm out here for one purpose and one purpose only...Revenge!"
The crowd cheer.
Kriminal - "As you all will know, last Friday on Meltdown, I had the match against Blitz, which I have to admit was one helluva match, won, but then Deju Del Toro interfered and cost me the match."
The crowd begin to boo as Deju Del Toro's name is mentioned. A "Deju Sucks!" chant starts.
Kriminal - "That's right, Deju does suck. He sucks bad!...Anyway, I've got my match against that bastard tonight and I'm gonna whoop him worse than he's ever been whooped in his life."
The crowd cheer for Kriminal.
Kriminal - "And, although I've lost my first two matches in the GWA, I'm just gettin' into the run of things and I'll be winning week in-week out. I ain't gonna start tellin' you all how I shoulda won my matches, 'cos that's stupid. I have no excuses for losing to Alvekan - he was the better man, on the night. But tonight is gonna be different...I'm gonna come out victorious, and you lot are the lucky people to see it!"
The crowd cheers.
Kriminal - "I don't wanna be talking for too long, so I'll leave you all now with words of wisdom..."
The crowd quieten and listen to what Kriminal is about to say.
Kriminal - "...Deju's a dead man!"
Kriminal goes to drop the mic but stops at the last moment and looks up again.
Kriminal - "One more thing...this match of ours...it's gonna be No DQ!"
The crowd cheer and "WOOH!" and Kriminal drops the mic and slowly exits the ring. He walks up the ramp with Miss Demeanour and reaches the top of the ramp with "Fight Music" by D12 in full swing. Suddenly, the music stops and Mexican music plays out of the speakers. The crowd are incensed by this, but nobody more so than Kriminal. Kriminal stands at the top of the ramp waiting for the arrival of his opponent Deju Del Toro, but nobody comes.
After a couple of minutes, JF suggests a mistake by the backstage crew. Kriminal stands waiting and begins to talk to Miss Demeanour, when suddenly, Deju Del Toro runs from backstage and flies at Kriminal with a steel chair. Kriminal falls to the ground and Del Toro tosses the chair away, before starting to stomp into Kriminal. Del Toro starts kicking into Kriminal and then picks him up.
Del Toro begins to punch Kriminal in the head but Kriminal counters a punch and kicks Del Toro in the midsection, before DDT'ing him right onto the steel of the ramp. A loud thud echoes through the arena and the crowd cheer. Del Toro rolls down the ramp and Kriminal picks him up and whips him down the ramp towards the ring. Kriminal can be heard shouting at Del Toro.
Kriminal - "You wanna play dirty, do ya? You stupid muthaf**ka! I'll show ya how to play dirty!"
Kriminal runs down the ramp after Del Toro and clotheslines Del Toro, who had just bounced off the apron after running into it. Kriminal knocks Del Toro to the ground and starts kicking into him. Kriminal jumps up onto the apron and waits for Del Toro to get up. Kriminal then flies from the apron and executes a flying clothesline to the young Mexican.
Kriminal gets up after a few seconds and picks up Del Toro. Kriminal rolls Del Toro into the ring and follows. The referee calls for the bell to begin the match, which JF says has already been underway for several minutes.
Kriminal vs. Deju Del Toro (No Disqualification)
Del Toro and Kriminal start things off in the ring by trading rights and lefts. Kriminal quickly gains the upper-hand by kicking into Del Toro's midsection after Del Toro lunges at Kriminal, and misses. Kriminal starts focusing on Del Toro's midsection and kicks him there several times before knocking him to the mat with a facebuster. Kriminal goes for a very quick cover...One...Del Toro kicks out immediately! All that could be expected, as JF so rightly puts it.
Kriminal picks up Del Toro to his feet and knocks him down with a standing clothesline. Kriminal turns his attention to Del Toro's feet. Kriminal attempts to lock in a figure-four leglock, which is one of his signature moves, by the name of Escape From Alcatraz, as JF informs us, but Del Toro uses his lower-body strength to push Kriminal away.
Del Toro quickly springs to his feet and runs at Kriminal, who is leaning against the ropes, and clotheslines him over the ropes to the outside. Del Toro, instead of following him out, turns around and bounces off the opposite ropes, then, upon returning, flips over the top rope to the outside, and knocks down Kriminal. "Flash" Gunn and JF both appear to be amazed by this spectacular move by the Guadalajara native. The crowd cheer in excitement as they see Del Toro landing on top of Kriminal. Both men hit the ground with a thud.
Del Toro gets to his feet and leaps up onto the barrier at ringside. He waits for Kriminal to get up, by crouching on the barrier. Del Toro loses his concentration for a second and does not see Kriminal getting up, and gets knocked off the barrier and into the crowd by a dropkick.
Kriminal vaults over the barrier and starts attacking Del Toro amidst the GWA's fans at ringside. Kriminal begins kicking into Del Toro's side before picking him up. Kriminal hits Del Toro with a fierce elbow to the face. Kriminal lifts Del Toro up in the Gorilla Press position and slams him down onto the hard concrete floor. JF reminds everyone that this match was brought upon by the recent interferences by both men in each other's matches.
Del Toro writhes in pain on the ground after being slammed from what must've been at least 8 feet in the air. The crowd cheer and Kriminal begins to stomp onto Del Toro. Kriminal takes a breather before picking Del Toro up and tossing him over the barrier and back to ringside. Kriminal follows Del Toro and picks Del Toro up before rolling him back into the ring.
Kriminal, instead of sliding into the ring, jumps up onto the apron and awaits Del Toro getting up. Just before Del Toro gets up, Kriminal jumps up onto the top rope from the outside and springs off it and connects with a cross body block to Del Toro. He lands in a pinning predicament....One...Two...Del Toro raises a shoulder!
Kriminal hammers the ground in anger and starts kicking into Del Toro. Kriminal picks Del Toro up and knocks him back down to the ground with a hip toss. Kriminal mounts the turnbuckle nearest Del Toro and flies off, intent on executing a flying splash to Del Toro, Del Toro rolls out of the way at the last minute. Kriminal hits the ground with a thud and Del Toro immediately locks in an STF on Kriminal.
Del Toro shouts abuse at Kriminal in Mexican, but we can hear the inclusion of "you stupid American bastard!", much to JF's disgust. After several seconds, Kriminal powers his way out of the STF and begins to punch Del Toro in "his Mexican-ass face", as "Flash" Gunn comments, trying to be funny, however, JF does not laugh.
Back in the "Square-Circle", Kriminal takes Del Toro down to the mat with a Headlock takedown before locking him in an armbar. Del Toro reaches for the ropes, but Kriminal moves to the centre of the ring. The referee asks if Del Toro is wanting to give up. Del Toro rejects the offer and reverses the hold on Kriminal, by rolling over towards Kriminal and hitting him with a knee drop. Del Toro tries a quick cover...One....Two...Kriminal's foot touches the bottom rope!
Kriminal and Del Toro get up at the same time and start trading punches. Del Toro punches Kriminal and Kriminal falls back against the rope. Del Toro steps back and runs at Kriminal, attempting to clothesline him over the ropes to the outside. Kriminal ducks and uses his shoulders to lift Del Toro up over the ropes.
Del Toro lands on the apron, with Kriminal unaware of this. Del Toro grabs Kriminal in a headlock from the apron and punches him several times in the head before running along the apron with him. Del Toro climbs up onto the turnbuckle from the outside and goes to bulldog Kriminal, but Kriminal pushes Del Toro off the turnbuckle at the last moment.
Del Toro lands on the outside hard on his back. Kriminal takes a breather against the ropes before climbing through the ropes to the outside of the ring. Kriminal flies off the apron and connects with a guillotine leg drop to Del Toro. This takes a lot out of Kriminal, as well as Del Toro.
Del Toro is quicker to his feel and he rolls over on top of Kriminal, not knowing that they are outside the ring. JF laughs at this and the crowd start a "LO-SER!" chant aimed at Del Toro. Kriminal powers Del Toro off of him and slides into the ring, with Del Toro coming back in a few seconds later. As Del Toro slides in, Kriminal begins stomping on him, not giving him a chance to get up. Kriminal lets Del Toro get up but as soon as Del Toro gets up Kriminal hits him with a strong clothesline.
Kriminal starts punching into Del Toro and lifts Del Toro up into a scoop slam, which is turned into a reverse DDT. Kriminal tries a cover...One...Two...The referee stops the count when he sees Kriminal using the ropes for leverage!
Kriminal protests his innocence as Del Toro knocks him down from behind with a low blow. Del Toro starts jumping around the ring and doesn't see Blitz slowly walk down the ramp. Blitz stops at the bottom of the ramp, right next to the ring, and Del Toro notices him, and stops jumping around. Del Toro jumps up onto the second rope, pretty much at the centre of it, between the two turnbuckles nearest the ramp, and starts shouting abuse at the big German in Mexican.
Del Toro continues to shout at the German monster, and does not see Kriminal get up. With Del Toro on the second rope, Kriminal puts Del Toro in a full nelson position, and jumps back, slamming Del Toro to the ground. Kriminal rolls backwards and gets up to his feet. He covers Del Toro...One...Two...Del Toro raises a shoulder!
Kriminal shouts in anger as Blitz is seen walking back up the ramp, in disgust. Kriminal goes to stomp onto Del Toro but Del Toro grabs his leg and takes him down with a single-leg Boston crab. Kriminal holds onto the ropes and the hold is broken. Del Toro drops onto Kriminal with a leg drop. Kriminal groans in pain. Del Toro tries a pin attempt...One...Two...Kriminal overpowers Del Toro and pushes him off of his body.
Kriminal pushes Del Toro against the turnbuckle and lifts him up onto the top before executing a tornado DDT to the mat. Kriminal picks Del Toro back up and kicks him in the midsection before lifting him up into a powerbomb position. Instead of slamming him down, Kriminal holds Del Toro up there and Del Toro tries desperately to wriggle out of his grasp, Kriminal then lifts Del Toro up a bit, before slamming him down into a front facebuster.
JF screams in excitement; "Oh my God, Kriminal just hit The Death Penalty! This one is surely over!", but Kriminal does not make the cover, as he is distracted by Blitz climbing up onto the ring apron. Flash says he never even saw Blitz come back out, as Kriminal runs at the German, attempting a big right hand.
Blitz avoids the contact, though, and hangs Kriminal up on the top rope. Kriminal staggers into the ring, as Blitz steps through the ropes. Kriminal regains his bearings, and turns to face Blitz, only to walk straight into Heavy Artillery! JF yells the name of the move a few times, as the fans boo loudly, before cheering as Del Toro slowly stands up, and begins to advance towards Blitz.
Suddenly, though, Blitz turns around, spots Del Toro, and grabs him, before planting him with Heavy Artillery as well! The referee calls for the bell, as Blitz stands above the motionless bodies of both Kriminal and Del Toro, and the fans hurl abuse at him.
No contest
JF yells that Blitz just did a number on both men here, as Flash wonders what the hell the problem is between these three men. JF says he has no idea, but it's bound to come to a head soon, as Blitz gets in the face of both men, trash-talking them. The wail of air-raid sirens fills the arena, and as the fans boo loudly, Blitz exits the ring, and walks slowly backstage, a crooked smile on his face.
Both Del Toro and Kriminal lie in the ring, as JF says that Corruption is off to an explosive start tonight, and Flash says that there's still a lot to come. JF agrees, and says that things are already heated, but could get even more so soon, as he sends us to commercial.
[GWA Genesis - September 1st, only on pay-per-view!]
Corruption comes back, and we find ourselves backstage, in Clint DeVasher's office. DeVasher is on his phone, when suddenly, the door bursts open, and Kriminal comes storming in. DeVasher looks up, surprised, then tells whoever he's talking to he'll call them back, and hangs up.
DeVasher - "Can I help you?"
Kriminal - "You damn right you can! Did you see that foo' out there? That German Nazi sum-bitch interfered again! He cost me my damn match! Now, I want that asshole in the ring, and I want him now!
DeVasher - "Yeah, I saw it, but it strikes me that you're each as bad as each other. We've only been open a week, but already you, Blitz, and Del Toro are interfering in each other's matches. Well, it stops. Now. I'll tell you what I'm gonna do. As of now, the three of you are allowed nowhere near each other's matches, or you'll be suspended indefinitely. And at Genesis on September 1st, provided none if you are in the tournament finals, the three of you will meet in a triple-threat elimination tables match. How's that sound?"
Kriminal - "Sounds damn good to me. But I don't care if I'm in the finals or not at Genesis… Blitz is getting his."
Kriminal turns and walks out of the office, and DeVasher stares after him, an incredulous look on his face. He then picks up his phone, and dials a number, as we cut back to ringside, where JF is all excited. He says that our first match has been confirmed for Genesis, and Flash says it should be a great one, given the heat that exists between the three men. JF agrees, and the two talk some more about it, before moving on to talk about the next match.
JF says that we've just seen Blitz, but we're about to see him again, as he meets Lé Java in this upcoming contest. Flash says that we definitely won't see either Kriminal or Del Toro here, given the conditions just laid down by DeVasher, and JF says that could be a blessing for Blitz. JF then says that Lé Java hasn't impressed so far in his GWA career, and will be looking to get things started tonight, as we cut to the ramp.
Lé Java vs. Blitz
Lé Java walks out but nobody notices because he doesn't have any theme music. They only realise when the announcer announces his entrance. Lé Java walks down the ramp and the crowd give a mixed reaction. Flash says "Lé Java is still to make an impact on the GWA. If he beats Blitz he definitely will."
Lé Java rolls into the ring as the lights go out and red lights and spotlights flash about. The wailing of air raid sirens can be heard and the crowd immediately start to boo loudly. Everybody looks to the ramp but Blitz doesn't make his appearance. Flash asks, "Where is that German retard?"
Suddenly Lé Java is attacked from behind and the lights return to normal. Flash: "It's Blitz!" Lé Java seems unaffected by the shot from behind. Blitz gives Lé Java an axe handle smash and Lé Java falls to his knees. Blitz bounces off the ropes and baseball slides into the back of Lé Java. Lé Java goes upright holding his back in pain. JF: "What a baseball slide!"
Blitz gets to his feet and starts delivering heavy rights to the head of Lé Java. Flash: "That's ruthless aggression!" Suddenly Lé Java gets to his feet seemingly unaffected by the blows and starts giving Blitz right hands of his own. Lé Java's rights are rocking blows that send Blitz backwards. Lé Java then starts backhand slapping Blitz into the corner. After each backhand the crowd screams "OOOOO!!"
Lé Java then starts driving his shoulder into the gut of Blitz. Blitz's eyes bulge from the force. Lé Java then hooks Blitz up and executes a textbook fisherman suplex. Flash: "A great suplex!" Lé Java then bounces off the ropes and splashes Blitz. Flash: "Whoa! That's 6'7" and 311lbs of Lé Java splashing down on Blitz. Lé Java gets to his feet and screams something in French to the crowd. The crowd gives a mixed reaction.
Lé Java picks Blitz up and grabs him by the throat. JF: "He's going for a chokeslam!" Lé Java lifts Blitz but blitz kicks Lé Java in the groin. Lé Java drops Blitz and falls to his knees holding his crotch. Flash: "That cheating bastard!" Blitz tells the ref that it was an accident and he was meant to hit Lé Java in the gut. The ref surprisingly lets it go. Flash: "What! Blitz should have got disqualified!"
Blitz starts kicking the prone Lé Java to the mat. He then gives Lé Java a leg drop with authority. JF: "Blitz in full; control now!" Blitz picks up Lé Java and throws him through the ropes to the outside. Blitz rolls out of the ring and the ref starts the count. Blitz whips Lé Java hard into the ring post and Lé Java's head bounces off like a rubber ball. Flash: "That's gonna hurt!"
Blitz then takes off the top half of the near by ring steps and lays Lé Java across the bottom half. He then rolls into the ring to restart the count and climb to the top of the turnbuckle. JF: "What's he doing?" Flash: "I don't want to know" Blitz jumps and attempts a leg drop but Lé Java moves out of the way and Blitz lands hard on the steel steps holding his knee in a world of pain. Flash: "That's the kind of stupid mistake that ends careers. What an idiot!"
Lé Java gets up on his hands and knees to recover from the blows he took. He then slides in and out of the ring to restart the count. Lé Java pulls Blitz off the ring step; Blitz can hardly stand on the knee he hurt. Flash: "Blitz looks hurt bad" Lé Java whips Blitz hard into the barricade but Blitz falls before hitting it because of his knee. Seeing this, Lé Java pulls Blitz up and performs a knee breaker on the injured knee of Blitz. Blitz falls to the ground screaming in pain. Flash: "Lé Java is capitalising on Blitz's injured knee."
Lé Java then picks Blitz up and lifts him above his head. Now the crowd is cheering at the strength of the Frenchman. JF: "Great strength shown by Lé Java." Lé Java then drops Blitz onto the security barrier. Blitz groans as he is winded from the impact. Lé Java peels Blitz off the barrier and rolls him into the ring. Lé Java climbs onto the ring apron and goes up top. Flash: "Lé Java's gonna fly!"
In the ring Blitz is struggling to his feet. Eventually he does and stands gingerly on one leg and turns. He sees Lé Java flying towards him. Lé Java connects with a flying clothesline. Flash: "Lé Java must have this won now!" JF: Don't count Blitz out of it too soon." Flash: "Come on! Blitz is in a world of pain and Lé Java nearly decapitated him with that flying clothesline. It's all over!"
Lé Java pulls Blitz to his feet, only to be met with a shoulder to the gut. The Frenchman doubles over in pain, and Blitz stands upright, before nailing his opponent with a couple of right hands, and sending him to the ropes. As Lé Java comes back, Blitz lunges at him, nailing The Raid! JF yells that it's over, and sure enough, Blitz covers, and the referee makes the three-count!
Winner via Pinfall: Blitz
The wail of the sirens fills Mellon Arena again, as the Pittsburgh fans boo loudly for the German's victory. Blitz raises his arms in celebration, then exits the ring, and walks slowly backstage. Suddenly, Kriminal bursts from behind the curtain, and takes Blitz down with a hard clothesline, before stomping hard on the Berlin native!
Flash yells that Kriminal isn't allowed out here, and will now be suspended, but JF points out that the match is over, so DeVasher's conditions aren't in force right now. Flash falls silent, as Kriminal continues his assault on Blitz.
Then, Deju Del Toro appears, and takes Kriminal down with a flying clothesline. Del Toro stomps on both men, and as they lie prone, climbs the Globaltron's scaffolding. JF asks what the hell the Mexican is doing, and Flash says it doesn't look sane, as Del Toro holds on for dear life.
Then, he yells "Gwenos Dios Loseros!", before leaping off the scaffolding, nailing both Kriminal and Blitz with Rolling Thundero from 10ft in the air! The fans go ballistic, as JF screams that was insane, and all three men lie motionless on the stage. GWA officials rush out from backstage, and Flash shouts that all hell has broken loose here in Pittsburgh, as Corruption heads off to commercials again.
[The staff and members of the GWA wish to express their sincere condolences and sympathies to the families and friends of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, and to the community of Soham, Cambridgeshire. May the girls Rest In Peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.]
As Corruption comes back, JF and Flash discuss what just happened between Kriminal, Deju Del Toro, and Blitz, as replays are shown. JF says that there are some serious problems there, then adds that it will all come to a head at Genesis in just under two weeks, after DeVasher's announcement earlier tonight. Flash says he can't wait for that one, then says that another one he can't wait for is this next match between Mr. Happyhead and "Tornado" Takashi Nakayama.
Footage is shown of Mr. Happyhead's shocking exploits in the GWA so far, and JF says that this man is quite easily the most hated man in sports entertainment right now. Flash agrees, and calls Mr. Happyhead a sick, depraved human being, and says that he hopes he gets his comeuppance soon.
JF says he may get it tonight, as Takashi wants revenge for what happened on Meltdown in his match with Happyhead. Footage from Meltdown is screened, and Flash says that Takashi has been seething ever since Friday night, and he'll be looking for payback tonight. JF says that this could be very interesting indeed, as we cut to the ring.
Mr. Happyhead vs. "Tornado" Takashi Nakayama
The fans cheer as "Shinobi vs. Dragon Ninja" begins to play. Takashi walks out to the top of the ramp, without Inamoto-san by his side. JF tells that fans that Inamoto-san was told to remain backstage for this fight, as it would be a very gruelling contest between these two men. Takashi rolls into the ring and motions to the fans, who cheer back.
The music changes to Mr. Happyhead's theme, and he walks out to the heat of the fans. He ignores all of the booing, and waves to Takashi, who is getting psyched up in the ring. Happyhead walks down the ramp, and rolls into the ring, as Flash explains to the viewers that this is a rematch of the match these two men had last week.
The bell sounds as both men lock up. Takashi instantly drops to one knee and takes Happyhead over with a fireman's carry. The fans cheer as Takashi kicks Happyhead in the chest, then nails an elbow drop. He lifts Happyhead to his feet and nails a scoop slam, before hitting a small legdrop. He covers Happyhead, but fails to get a one count.
Happyhead gets back to his feet and strokes his chin, as JF says that Happyhead will need a good strategy if he is to beat the oriental Tornado. Both men lock up again, and Takashi drops once more, but Happyhead reaches over and lifts him into the air, before delivering a modified powerbomb. Happyhead then immediately begins stomping on Takashi.
Happyhead pulls Takashi up, and whips him into the corner, before splashing Takashi, and pulling him to the center of the ring. Happyhead then climbs to the second rope, and jumps off with an elbow, but Takashi nails a standing kick to Happyhead as he flies through the air, and grabs his arm, before taking him down with a single arm DDT.
Takashi rolls Happyhead onto his back and makes a cover, but Happyhead kicks out. Takashi gets back to his feet and quickly climbs to the top rope, as Happyhead gets to his feet, but Happyhead sees Takashi, and runs into the ropes, causing Takashi to fall. The fans boo as Happyhead then climbs up to the top rope, and nails a fantastic superplex. Both men lay out on the mat, as the fans start to chant for Takashi.
The fans boo as Happyhead rolls over onto Takashi, and hooks the leg. The referee counts, but only gets a two. Happyhead lifts Takashi to his feet, but Takashi punches Happyhead in the chest, then unleashes a flurry of shots to his head and body, before setting up and delivering a northern lights suplex! The fans cheer as Takashi holds for the cover. 1...2...No. Happyhead kicks out.
Both men get back to their feet and Takashi swings a punch, but Happyhead blocks the punch and fires back with a couple of his own, before sending Takashi to the ropes. He positions for a backdrop, but Takashi leapfrogs him, Takashi rebounds and attempts a cross body, but Happyhead catches him in a fallaway slam position, before hoisting him onto his shoulders and planting the Drop into Depression! The fans boo as Takashi drops to the mat. Happyhead makes a cover, but Takashi kicks out!
Happyhead pounds the mat in frustration, then gets to his feet, and begins to argue with the referee, as the fans cheer for Takashi. Happyhead flips the referee off, then turns to face Takashi, only to be sent down to the canvas with a leg sweep. Takashi springs to his feet, and runs to the ropes, as Happyhead stands back up. Takashi comes off the ropes, and leaps into the air, nailing Happyhead with an outstanding dropkick!
Happyhead hits the canvas hard, and lies still, as Takashi shouts something in Japanese to the crowd. The Pittsburgh fans respond with loud cheers, and Takashi smiles, before heading onto the ring apron, and climbing up top. JF says that the former UFC champion could be looking to end things here, and get revenge for Meltdown, as Takashi steadies himself on top.
Takashi points down at the prone form of Happyhead, then leaps off the top with an incredible 450 Splash! The fans go wild for the high-risk manoeuvre, as JF screams that the Saitama native is insane. Flash raves about what we just saw, as Takashi goes for the cover. The referee begins to count… One… Two… NO!!! Happyhead just gets his shoulder up!
The fans boo loudly, as JF yells that he can't believe that Happyhead survived that. Flash says that Takashi clearly can't believe it either, as he kneels in the ring, holding his head in his hands. Takashi stands up, and stomps on Happyhead a couple of times, before climbing up top again.
JF wonders what Takashi has planned here, then gets his answer, as Happyhead gets to his feet, and Takashi leaps off the top with a flying kick, only for Happyhead to avoid it! JF yells that Takashi went for the Martial Art there, as Happyhead grabs his opponent from behind, and executes an inverted atomic drop!
Flash says that's enough to weaken the resistance of any man, as Takashi drops to the mat, holding his most sensitive and private area in pain. Happyhead laughs, then grabs Takashi's legs, and splits them into a wishbone, before stomping hard into his genitals! Happyhead holds his boot against Takashi's balls, and pulls back on his legs, as the man from Japan screams in pain!
JF wonders if that counts as a legal move, and Flash informs him that Happyhead calls it the Ball Buster, and yes, it is legal. The referee looks for a submission from Takashi, but he shakes his head no, and reaches desperately for the ropes. Happyhead pulls back even more, causing more agony for Takashi, but he is too close to the ropes, and manages to reach them, forcing Happyhead to break the hold.
As soon as he does, Takashi rolls out of the ring, and lies on the outside, holding his balls in agony. Happyhead watches him from inside the ring, and paces impatiently, as the referee begins to count Takashi out. The fans urge on Takashi, and Happyhead turns to abuse them, just as Takashi gets to his feet. Takashi leans into the ring, grabs Happyhead's feet, and drags him to the outside, before nailing him right on the chin with a savage martial arts kick!
Happyhead drops to the floor, and Takashi picks him up, then rolls him into the ring. He then hops up onto the apron, before leaping over the top rope, and using the ropes as a springboard to deliver a moonsault! JF raves about Takashi's athleticism, as the Japanese native drags Happyhead up, then boots him in the gut.
Takashi then wraps his leg around Happyhead's neck, and drops himself into a kneeling position, smashing Happyhead's face into his heel! JF screams "Honourable Death!" repeatedly, as the fans go into a frenzy, and Takashi makes the cover. The referee drops down, and counts… One… Two… THREE!!! Takashi wins it!
Winner via Pinfall: "Tornado" Takashi Nakayama
"Shinobi vs. Dragon Ninja" hits again, as the fans cheer for Takashi's victory. Takashi jumps up and down with glee in the ring, as Flash says that he's pleased that Happyhead lost, as he deserves it due to his actions this past week. Takashi climbs the turnbuckles, celebrating, and doesn't notice Happyhead getting to his feet behind him.
The fans attempt to warn Takashi, but it's no use, as he turns around, and walks straight into a vicious clothesline from the masked man. Happyhead stomps ruthlessly on Takashi, before dragging him to his feet, and whipping him hard into the corner. Takashi slumps against the turnbuckle, as the fans hurl abuse at Happyhead, and JF says that this is totally uncalled for.
Happyhead exits the ring, and shoves the timekeeper off his chair, before grabbing it and throwing it into the ring. Flash says that this doesn't look at all good for Takashi, and JF yells to get some help out here, as Happyhead walks over to his adversary. Happyhead splays Takashi's legs over the ropes on either side of him, then places the chair between his legs. He then takes a run-up, and boots the chair hard into Takashi's balls, executing what is known as America's Funniest Home Video!
Takashi slumps slowly to the canvas, holding his crotch, only for Happyhead to drag him straight back up again. JF yells that enough is enough, but Happyhead pays no attention, and executes The Abortion, right onto the steel chair! Flash screams that Takashi has been totally annihilated here, as officials finally appear, and force Happyhead out of the ring.
"The Wrath" by Rufio hits, as Happyhead heads backstage, laughing loudly. JF says that Happyhead is a diabolical son-of-a-bitch, as officials check on the motionless, bloodied Takashi lying in the ring. Flash says he has a feeling that this one isn't over, and JF agrees, as Corruption fades to commercial.
[GWA Gossip - Wednesday!]
Corruption comes back, and without so much as a pause, Marilyn Manson's "Seizure Of Power" hits the speakers. As Striker's music plays, and the man himself heads to ringside, accompanied by Candi. The fans cheer loudly as the fans cheer loudly for the former champion of the "other" IWF, as JF puts it. Flash talks about Striker's hard-fought victory over Gabriel Trenton in the amazing Ladder Match on Meltdown, then wonders if Striker can possibly be at 100% tonight.
JF says that Psycho was also in a brutal match last week, in the shape of the Last Man Standing encounter with TSW. Flash nods, and says there's no way the Insane One is at 100% either, as "My Plague" is heard, and Psycho walks down to the ring to a decent reaction from the fans in attendance. Psycho rolls into the ring, and he and Striker stare each other down from opposite sides of the squared circle.
Psycho vs. Striker
The referee calls for the bell, which is duly rung. Immediately, Psycho and Striker lock up in the middle of the ring, and the grapple continues for a minute or so, before Striker knees Psycho in the gut, giving himself the advantage. Striker continues to drive his knee into Psycho's lower extremities, before setting his opponent up, and sending him flying with an overhead suplex.
Psycho hits the mat, but he gets straight back up, and JF comments about his resiliency and athleticism there, which is met by a grunt from Flash. Psycho and Striker again stare at each other, before Striker runs at Psycho, only to be met by a swift super-kick, which connects perfectly with Striker's jaw.
Striker hits the mat, and Psycho begins to stomp hard on him, before unleashing a few stiff kicks to the ribs. Striker rolls away from Psycho's vicious boot, and Psycho follows him, before pulling him upright. Psycho hits a number of elbows into the face of Striker, before whipping him to the corner, and following in with a swift clothesline, sending Striker to the mat.
JF says that Psycho is dominating this match at the moment, and Flash agrees, though points out that Striker is certainly capable of coming back into things. JF agrees, before resuming commentating on the action, as Psycho stomps repeatedly on Striker in the corner. Psycho eventually stops that, and pulls Striker upright, before smacking his head repeatedly off the turnbuckle, then turning, and delivering a running bulldog. Psycho goes for the cover, but as the referee reaches the count of 2, Striker gets his shoulder up.
Psycho doesn't let up, and swiftly pulls Striker up by the hair, which earns him a rebuke from the referee. Psycho mouths off to the referee, distracting him for a second, and Striker seizes the opportunity to deliver a low blow to Psycho. Psycho collapses to the mat, and Striker slowly gets to his feet, before dropping his elbow into the back of Psycho's head.
At ringside, Candi shows her appreciation for her man with applause, as Striker locks in a Crippler Crossface-type manoeuvre, and Psycho screams in pain as he cinches in the hold. As Striker tightens the hold, the referee checks for a submission, but despite the pain he is obviously in, Psycho refuses to give up. JF says that the pain is pretty much nothing to Psycho, and reminds fans of his enjoyment of pain. Flash points out that it's bound to be hurting more than usual tonight, because of the injuries sustained last week by Psycho, and JF nods.
After a bit, Psycho begins to slowly inch towards the ropes, while Striker all the while keeps the hold locked in. Eventually, Psycho grabs the bottom rope, and the referee forces Striker to break the hold. Striker stands up, and is obviously frustrated. Psycho lies still on the mat, as Striker walks calmly over to him, and drags him to his feet. Psycho holds his shoulder in pain, and Striker grabs the injured arm, and delivers a jumping arm-breaker. Psycho yells in pain as he hits the mat, and Striker attempts the pinfall, only for his opponent to kick out after a 2-count.
Striker can't believe it, and begins arguing with the referee, as Psycho rolls around the ring, clutching his shoulder. Eventually, Psycho pulls himself upright via the ropes, as Striker continues to argue, and the referee insists it was only a 2-count. Striker is taken by surprise as Psycho hits an axe-handle to the back, then delivers a reverse DDT.
As Striker hits the mat, Psycho takes the chance to catch a quick breather, before signalling for the end. JF says that it could be time for the Psycho Plunge, and sure enough, as Striker gets to his feet, Psycho grabs him and sets him up for his finisher, only for Striker to manage to counter, and drop down behind Psycho!
Psycho looks surprised, and turns around, only to walk straight into Strike Out! The fans cheer loudly, as JF yells that this one is over. Sure enough, Striker covers Psycho, and the referee counts, one… two… three!!!
Winner via Pinfall: Striker
"Seizure Of Power" hits again, as the fans cheer Striker's victory, and Candi slides into the ring to celebrate with him. JF says it was a hard-fought win for Striker, and Flash agrees, adding that both men put up a good show despite not being at 100%.
JF agrees, then says that Striker is many people's favourite to win the Heavyweight Title tournament, and it is easy to see why on this form. Flash nods, as Striker and Candi exit the ring, and make their way backstage.
In the ring, Psycho comes to, and stares up the ramp after the departing pair, shaking his head in disbelief. Flash says that Psycho has yet to win a match in the GWA, and JF says that won't last for long, as he knows the ability the Insane One has. JF says that Psycho could well become the first Global Champion, and Flash says there's a lot of good competition for it, as Corruption heads to the final commercial break.
[GWA Meltdown - Every Friday, LIVE on Fox!]
Jim Floss welcomes us back once again to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and a sold-out crowd at the Mellon Arena. The camera pans through the audience, as they flail their arms and scream wildly. JF continues to talk about how great the show has been so far, and how the Global Wrestling Association has gotten off to a great start. He continues talking up the still young federation, harping its upcoming pay-per-view, and selling the product until he's interrupted by the theme from the Omen.
By this point, the crowd knows who this is. The fans continue cheering as Clint DeVasher steps out from behind the curtains amid a flurry of pyrotechnics. The crowd continues to cheer, as Clint walks down the ramp briskly, and joins Floss and Gunn at the announce position. Flash welcomes the owner of the company with open arms, asking him about the reason behind the surprise visit.
Clint's music fades away as he begins to talk about Pittsburgh's spot as the backbone of the United States. From coal to steel, it has been a huge part of the history of this country. DeVasher states that in honour of Pittsburgh's contributions to the nation, and thus the world, he's giving them something special. The crowd erupts into cheers, as a metal cage begins lowering from the ceiling.
DeVasher reasons that this is the so-called "Steel Town." So what better way to celebrate it's unique history than with a steel cage especially designed for this city. Clint says that the cage was built higher than the regular cage, and it's for a reason. The purpose of this match isn't to escape, it's about containment. And tonight, it's also about entertainment. So, on that note, DeVasher says that escape will be futile in this match-up, because it'll take pinfall within the cage for either man to come away victorious tonight.
The crowd erupts once again, as the cage rattles against the apron. "Pop" by N'Sync echoes over the sold out crowd, signalling the entrance of someone Gunn refers to as "perhaps Mr. DeVasher's best signing." Jim Floss agrees, to a degree, but reminds his partner that Gabriel Trenton has started his GWA career off with a loss, and that's not a favourable way to begin. Gunn just blames the new scenery, and Clint states that Trenton is going to get used to it.
Gabriel walks down the ramp in a hurry, determined to chalk up his first win in GWA action. Jim Floss says that Trenton better get used to that cage, or he'll be in for one Hell of an encounter. Trenton slides into the ring through the open door, and poses for the crowd, flexing and whatnot. His music cuts away quickly, and "Cadence To Arms" blasts over the arena. The camera focuses in on a sign in the audience talking about how the Scottish must follow a don't ask, don't tell policy as far as it's "warrior's" are concerned.
The Scottish Warrior strides through the blasting fireworks, as the flashing blue lights, and white x-shaped spotlight marks the spot in the middle of the ring where Gabriel Trenton waits patiently. Jim Floss discusses the last match these two men had, one which resulted in serious injury. Clint DeVasher promises that these two men will once again have a memorable fight, this time injury free. The sound of a fist knocking on wood is heard from the announce position, as the Scottish Warrior shakes the wall of the cage to test it's sturdiness before entering the ring.
The Scottish Warrior vs. Gabriel Trenton (Cage Match)
Jim Floss announces that our referee for this match is John Stamos Jr., who despite what you might think, has no relation at all to Bob Saget. Flash leads the confusion as he tries to question Floss's rationale. By then, though, the door has shut behind TSW, and Trenton has managed to push past Stamos and send a knee into TSW's midsection. The Scottish Warrior hunches over in pain, and Trenton hits another hard knee into TSW's upper chest, sending him to the mat.
The Auchenheath native gets up to his knees reasonably fast. Trenton maintains the offensive, and quickly approaches his opponent, but gets a quick punch to the stomach instead. Gabriel holds his gut and stumbles backwards, and the Scottish Warrior wraps his right arm around Trenton's head. He screams in his dumb accent for a Saltire, as he grabs onto Trenton's tights, but the wily young Gabriel manages to hook his legs with TSW's, and get a quick roll-up. Stamos drops to the mat for the count, and TSW kicks out after one.
Trenton stands to prepare for another assault, as the Scottish Warrior gets up frustrated. Before TSW can vent, Gabriel hits a textbook double leg takedown on his larger foe, before knotting their legs together and applying a figure four! Gabriel leans back, as his face grimaces. Jim Floss tells us that he's putting a lot of pressure onto the Scottish Warrior's knee, as TSW's upper body writhes across the mat in pain.
TSW reaches for the ropes valiantly, but they just glance his fingertips. Gabriel slides them a little more into the middle of the ring, and manages to maintain his hold on the Scottish Warrior while rolling him onto his stomach. Trenton still holds the figure four, but he begins kneeling up out of it. The Scottish Warrior once again reaches for the ropes, but it is still unsuccessful.
Trenton leans back into a bridge, and wraps both of his hands around the Scottish Warrior's jawbone, and pulls him into a surfboard, one which Floss calls the oddest he's ever seen. The move seems very effective, though, as the Scottish Warrior's right arm flails back and forth, hoping for the ropes, but so close to falling to his side. Trenton strengthens his clasp, as John Stamos Jr. asks if the Scottish Warrior is ready to give up.
TSW uses one last chance to reach for the ropes. His middle and index fingers brush against them a few times, teasing him with the opportunity to get out of this painful hold. Trenton begins tightening some more, but the Scottish Warrior just thrusts his shoulders out and manages to grab a handful of the ropes!!
Stamos does his job and pulls the two men apart, as the Scottish Warrior continues to hold onto the ropes. He uses it as leverage to get up to one knee, as Gabriel Trenton gets up fast yet again. Trenton charges the prone Scotsman, before catching a shoulder to the hip and being back body dropped into the wall of the cage!!!
The structure rumbles back and forth after the impact, as Clint DeVasher once again hypes the talent of the GWA. Flash says that he's impressed. Clint reminds Flash that still won't get him a raise. The Scottish Warrior gets back up to his feet, as Trenton's body continues to be leaning against the wall of the cage. TSW notices his prone opponent, and backtracks towards the opposite side of the ring. He wipes away a little froth from his lips, before charging. TSW leaps modestly into the air, and hits a vicious cross-body check onto Trenton, into the cage!!
Gabriel slumps over even more against the wall of the cage, as the Scottish Warrior pulls him back into the middle of the ring. TSW pins Trenton with a lackluster cover, one which sees Trenton kick out at a one and a half count. The Scottish Warrior bickers with Stamos for a second, before walking towards the door of the cage. TSW opens it up, and manages to escape!
Of course, it doesn't win him the match. It does win him some nice toys, though, as he rummages underneath the ring. He slides two tables into the ring, followed by canvas sack. He climbs back into the ring, and begins unfolding the first of his two tables. He pulls the legs apart, and then flips it over right-side-up. TSW checks the table for its steadiness, as Trenton manages to steady himself and get to his feet.
The Scottish Warrior turns to notice his recovering opponent. TSW charges with a hard clothesline, but Trenton manages to duck it. TSW rebounds off the ropes, and Gabriel attempts a superkick! The Scottish Warrior stops at the right moment though, and he catches Trenton's leg at the last possible second. TSW pulls Trenton closer, and turns them around as he has his back to the table.
The Scottish Warrior pauses for a second, before snapping Trenton back with a suplex, but Gabriel manages to hold onto TSW's head, and drop down on his feet just behind him. Gabriel somehow musters up the strength to hoist TSW up, and drop him through the table stomach-first with an inverted suplex!!!!
The crowd roars it's approval at the last series of moves, as Jim Floss says that he just can't comprehend either men having the quickness to reverse those moves like they did. Trenton gets up to his feet, and holds himself still with the bars of the cage. He stands above the wreckage of the table and his fallen opponent, and he begins to climb up the cage. Trenton makes his way up the cage slowly, as the Scottish Warrior begins crawling out of the splintered table.
Trenton climbs some, getting closer to the top. Jim Floss can only speculate what Trenton is planning, as TSW manages to get to one knee. The Scottish Warrior manages to grab the canvas sack, and immediately turn around and swing it upward, catching Gabriel Trenton in his lower back with the sack!!!
The back spills open, and hundreds upon thousands of shining thumbtacks find their way onto the canvas. The crowd begins to stir in anticipation, as Trenton clutches onto the bars while trying not to fall off. The Scottish Warrior walks just underneath where Gabriel is, and he uses the cage to steady himself as he climbs up a bit to catch his opponent. Trenton still seems groggy, as TSW wraps his arms around his waist. TSW raises one fist to the crowd, before spiking Trenton down from the wall of the cage onto the pile of thumbtacks with a huge powerbomb!!!!!
Gabriel rolls around in the pile of thumbtacks, as they protrude into his good-looking flesh. Trenton can't seem to get away from the pile, and eventually stops moving all that much. TSW moves towards the turnbuckle though, picking the table up in the process. The Scottish Warrior holds the table against his chest as he climbs up the turnbuckles slowly.
Trenton doesn't move much, as the Scottish Warrior gets ready to jump from the top turnbuckle, though he's still holding the table. Just before he can jump, though, he looks up. He sees another ten feet of steel waiting to be climbed. TSW leans the table against the ring post and the corner of the cage, as he climbs the remaining distance to the very top. The Scottish Warrior reaches the top, and sits on the corner like a gargoyle, facing his downed opponent. TSW lifts up the unfolded table again, and holds it against his chest. TSW braces himself, before jumping from the top of the cage with a table held under him onto Trenton and the pile of thumbtacks!!!!!!
The impact causes the fans to cheer wildly, as Jim Floss states that it was one of the more veteran wrestling moves he's ever seen. The slow motion instant replay shows how the Scottish Warrior adjusted with the table in mid-air so that it would be below him, almost like a bellyboard, so his landing onto Trenton wouldn't leave him as a pincushion. An instant replay showcases it again, as the table and the Scot on top of the table sandwich Trenton onto the mat, and the thumbtacks.
Trenton begins to crawl away from the pile of thumbtacks, and a trail of blood follows him. Gabriel reaches up at his eyebrow, and removes a tack. Blood shoots out upon removal, as Trenton continues crawling away from the pile. The Scottish Warrior uses the table to get back up to his feet, and upon doing so, he unfolds the table. TSW sets it up in the middle of the ring, before turning his attention towards Trenton. The Scottish Warrior approaches slowly, but Gabriel can sense it, and drop toe holds TSW face-first into the cage!!
Both men lie on the mat in pain, as the camera zooms in to show the number of pins lodged into Gabriel's face and body. Trenton begins to use the cage as leverage to get up to his feet, as the Scottish Warrior does just the same. The two men get up to their feet at the same time, and they stumble away from their respective sides backwards, until they both back into the table sitting there.
Both men turn around startled, and see each other. Gabriel sends a right hand into TSW's chest, and TSW sends an uppercut to Trenton's jaw. The punching forces the two men just off the table, as they lock up in a grapple. The men push each other back and forth, as they hover dangerously close to the wood.
The brawl continues, as JF comments on their determination to win this thing. TSW attempts to nail Gabriel with a big right hand, but Gabriel ducks it, and then sends TSW crashing through the table with The Green Mile! JF screams "OH MY GOD!!!", as the fans cheer loudly, and Flash yells that it has to be over. Gabriel crawls over to TSW, and covers him… One… Two… THREE!!! Gabriel has won it!
Winner via Pinfall: Gabriel Trenton
"Pop" hits again, as JF yells that Gabriel has upset TSW here, in what was an incredible match. As the cage rises, Flash says that in the process, Gabriel has also got himself a measure of revenge for TSW putting him out injured a few months back, as the victor slowly gets to his feet. He raises his arms in celebration, then looks down at the still-prone form of TSW.
A smile crosses Gabriel's face, and he walks over to the turnbuckle, before climbing it. JF says that Gabriel can't possibly be about to do what he thinks he's about to do, and Flash says he thinks he is. Gabriel steadies himself up top, then, with a cry of "FREEDOM!!!", leaps off the top, nailing TSW with his very own manoeuvre, the Scottish Splash!
The fans go ballistic, as JF yells that TSW won't like that one bit. Flash mentions the problems Gabriel using that move caused before, back in the IWF, and JF says we may well see a repeat of that here in the GWA. Gabriel rolls out of the ring, and makes his way backstage, pointing and laughing at the prone form of TSW, as the fans cheer him loudly. The camera flicks between Gabriel and TSW, as JF yells that this has been another great night, reminds fans not to miss Meltdown on Friday, then bids everyone goodbye, as Corruption goes off the air…
